2016 FRC Blogs: Build Week 3
The AdamBots have continued our productivity through the third week of the build season. On the engineering side of the team, the Game Strategy and Scouting Team was able to make the basis of scouting sheet for this game, which will be used to facilitate data collection about other teams so that we can make informed decisions about defenses and alliance partners. The Mechanical Teams are working on assembling the chassis, mounting the arm, and designing other mechanisms for the robot. They will be assembling the practice robot before using the knowledge from fabricating the practice robot to make the competition robots. The CAD Team is still working with the other teams to package everything onto the master model. The Electrical and Electronics Team has been finishing the Input and Output sheets in the past week. They were able to give a basic I/O sheet to the Programming Team, which started programming the robot for this year based on this information. Lastly, the Field Team finished working on the cheval de frise and started working on the tower.
On the business side of the team, the Chairman’s Team finished all the questions for their online submission and will soon begin focusing on their presentation. The Business Plan Team is preparing to submit their online submission and practicing for presentations to judges. The Marketing Team was able to send out invitations for Meet the AdamBots and CyberCats and is planning the presentation for the event. Lastly, the overall Project Management Team has been working on scheduling and ensuring that the build process runs smoothly.
As always, the Photo/Video Team has been capturing pictures and videos of team members working and will be posting their next video update soon. The Animation Team is currently waiting for instructions on another animation competition. The Imagery Team has been designing our standard, updating posters for the pit, and helping the Business Plan Team with their submission. Finally, the Digital Media Team had an interesting week because the AdamBots website went down on Monday night due to some server issues. Team mentors, students, and alumni were able to troubleshoot the problem, but the team will have to go through the website to fix some problems.
We are officially at the halfway point of the 2016 build season and the AdamBots are very pleased with our progress so far. We cannot wait to compete in just over a month at the Waterford District Competition!
