2016 FRC Blogs: Build Week 5
In the fifth week of our build season, the business side of the team had a very exciting week due to our Meet the AdamBots and Cyber Cats Event. The Marketing Team was in charge of organizing the event and other teams helped with different aspects of the event. The Business Plan Team was able to practice presenting the AdamBots Business Plan and budget to parents, sponsors, and prospective team members. The Photo/Video Team took pictures and videos of the event, and the Animation Team contributed their finished 2016 Safety Animation to the presentation. The Imagery Team worked on a team poster and pit backgrounds to be used in our pit during the event, and the Chairman’s Team added the 2015 Chairman’s Video to the presentation. Outside of this event, the Chairman’s Team also worked on Chairman’s video ideas and the presentation to judges. The Project Management Team continued to run scheduling and keep teams on task to finish the robot. Finally, the Digital Media Team cropped photos for the website and worked on updating individual student and mentor pages.
The engineering teams also had an opportunity to show visitors aspects of the design and fabrication of our 2016 robot. The Strategy and Scouting Team made scouting cheat sheet, and is making a form of communication for the drive team. They explained our strategy to guests at the Meet the AdamBots and Cyber Cats Event. The CAD Team worked on the battery mount and bumper supports this week, and showed visitors how the CAD master model works. The Mechanical Teams worked on fabrication and testing out prototypes this week, and also showed visitors our build space. The Electrical and Electronics Team got the practice robot board finished, painted competition boards, put together Stoney’s pneumatic board, cut out boards for all three robots, and found a place for controls on the robot. The Electrical Team also showed off our control board at the event. The Programming Team tested vision processing code and made the chassis move with drive code while showing tour groups the process of debugging code. Lastly, the Field Team finished the tower for the practice field and assembled it for programmers to use to test the vision processing code.
The AdamBots were very pleased with the incredible turnout and support of our parents, sponsors, and prospective students to the Meet the AdamBots and Cyber Cats Event. We can’t wait to reveal our robot very soon!
