2017 FRC Blogs: Competition Week Zero
The AdamBots did not stop working after the completion of the competition robot. Mechanical Teams and CAD have been touching up the practice robot. The Programming Team tested their code on the competition robot and continued to improve vision processing, while the Electrical Team fixed up and tested the wiring. Game Strategy and Scouting explained to the team how to scout at competitions, and our safety captain reviewed the ways in which we prevent and prepare for accidents. Using the wooden replica field, the Drive Team practiced both technical skills and teamwork.
The Imagery Team made the panels to be attached to the competition robot. Business Planning analyzed the results from a new wave of surveys and added the data to their presentation. Also presenting, the Chairman’s Team practiced and made the display items. Multimedia Communications prepared for the social media activity at the upcoming competition, and Photo/Video made a robot reveal video.
On February 25th, our team held Meet the AdamBots, an annual open house. We welcomed parents, current and potential sponsors, school faculty, and anyone else interested in what we do. Tour guides brought them from presentations to each team’s ordinary work day to a robot demonstration.
March 2nd marks the beginning of our first competition of the year, the Kettering 1 district. We will set up our pit on Thursday and compete throughout Friday and Saturday. We all can’t wait to see our efforts put to the test!
