2017 FRC Blogs: St. Louis Championship
Last week, the AdamBots traveled to St. Louis for the northern half of the world championship! Arriving Wednesday, we played practice matches and explored the venue. We played ten qualification matches in the Archimedes division throughout Thursday and Friday. We are proud to have ranked fourth out of these 68 teams! Saturday morning we advanced to become the third seed alliance captains and selected the teams 188 Blizzard, 3539 Byting Bulldogs, and 1025 IMPI Robotics. We narrowly lost the second match, ending our alliance’s progress at the quarterfinals. Nonetheless, our ranking alone makes this championship a roaring success for the AdamBots.
Our sister team the Cyber Cats played in the highly competitive Daly division and ranked third, becoming the second seed alliance captains. Their journey too ended in the quarterfinals with no less honor than our own. All three teams from Rochester Community Schools attended. The Feds team 201 from Rochester High School also were in Daly following becoming division finalists at the state championship.
Although the main competition season is over, the AdamBots are not done for the year. We have several off-season events during the summer and fall, and service projects such as the Relay for Life. Keep an eye on our social media for future updates!
