Fall Season Blogpost #2
This past week, the AdamBots invited a representative from Kettering University to visit our buildspace on one of our Saturday Workdays. He talked about the benefits of Kettering University as well as the college application process to our students. The students also engaged in engineering/business talks with the representative regarding aspects such as facebook, AI, etc. This past weekend, October 15th, the Adambots participated in the Bloomfield Hills Girls Competition. The team did exceptionally well!
The Electrical subteam designed the layout of the electrical board, trimmed the board to access motors for easy repairs, and mounted the board to the chassis. The mechanical subteam had new students work on disassembling the strongchold bot for part salvage. The other set of students (veterans and mentors) began to work on swerve drive and over the bumper intake for the chassis. The programming subteam has been training freshmen on the programs and functions they will be using in the upcoming year. The CAD subteam has been training the freshman on how to use the software that they will use by making them build lightsabers.
The imagery and photo video sub team has been practicing skills to prepare for the FIRST season by creating assignments for team members, while accounting for previous experience level. The media sub team has been training new members to work with WordPress, they also created an outreach photo gallery for the tailgate and farmer’s market. The business planning sub team is currently discussing sustainability, as well as updating the business plan and formulating the structure of it. This week the Impact and Communications sub team continued on with their Executive summary. Along with that, there was a business plan quiz to get the new students acquainted with it and for the veterans to refresh their knowledge.
