Build Season Week #2
The Mechanical subteam worked on the prototype for the telescoping arm as well as deciding to change their design from a string and motor to a rack and pinion design. They also finished their practice chassis and gave it to programming so that they could begin work. The CAD subteam were building and constraining the arm using the application of Solid Works. The Electrical subteam started testing to rerank batteries for the upcoming season, cut out the material they are going to use for the electrical board on the main robot, finalized designs for the electrical board and mapped out where the components are going to be, made a test board for programming to start coding the falcon motors and pneumatics. The Programming subteam worked with the electrical subteam to get the testing board for the arb subsystem, refined odometry, gyro, and field positioning. They also declared motors/devices required for the arm subsystem and wrote teleop commands in code. Along with updating their firmware for RobotRIO they also learned and used various softwares to detect cubes and cones.
The Impact and Communications subteam put their last touches on their executive summary essay as their turn in date quickly approaches. They are also hosting presentation interviews/tryouts to see who will be presenting alongside the other two presenters. The Media subteam continued to edit the website and change/add the bios for the students on the team. The Business Planning subteam created a tentative agenda up till the first competition and integrated the objectives page into the main business plan as well as updating statistics, pictures and graphics. The subteam also got all their financial data to rewrite the financial plan for the future. The Imagery and Photo Video subteam nearly completed the impact video script as well as finishing up the headshots and bios for the website of the students and mentors.
This past Tuesday, AdamBots members Arjit, Janhavi, Andy, and Elizabeth went to present at the monthly DEI, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion meeting. On this past Monday, the same AdamBots members including Jay Modi held an Advocacy meeting with teams 201, The Feds and 5436 the Cybercats from Rochester and Stoney Creek High Schools.
