Week 4: Woodhaven District

Written by Tvarika Vinothan on April 11, 2025 in Adambots Blog

The AdamBots had such an amazing time at the Woodhaven District Competition!

Between Kettering District #1 and Woodhaven, the Engineering teams were hard at work almost every night, ensuring we had an improved robot to compete at Woodhaven! Mechanical, Electrical, CAD, and Programming communicated with each other and the mentors to complete the tasks at hand. Scouting was preparing to have yet another successful scouting run! Supply Chain communicated with the teams and ordered any needed parts and materials.

The Business teams were hard at work as well! The Impact team continued to update the fact book and were preparing to present for the Impact Award again. The Sustainability team has continued their efforts to promote battery recycling throughout our school. The Imagery team continued work on updating team posters. The Photo/Video team was busy editing and uploading competition photos, and continuing to create the “How-To-Do” videos. Marketing and Communications and the Website subteams are keeping the website and social medias up to date.

The AdamBots performed great at the Woodhaven District Competition! We had a Win-Loss record of 11 to 1. After qualification matches, we finished ranked in 1st place, making us the Number 1 Alliance Captain! We partnered with Team 3620, The Average Joes, and Team 6029, The Railbots to join us for the semifinals and playoffs! Although we faced some tough alliances, we ended up winning the competition!

Our team also won the Judges Award, which celebrates our success in promoting our team’s mission and core values throughout FIRST!

We had such a wonderful time at the Woodhaven District competition, and are so excited for the upcoming First in Michigan State Championship competition!
