Year joined the team: 2012
Sub-Teams: Mechincal, CAD
What are 2 fun facts about you?
I was on the pilot team for the Van Hoosen middle school FRC team.
I am going to be a foreign exchange student in Germany this summer.
Why did you join the AdamBots?
I joined the AdamBots because I have always been fascinated with machines, and the chance to work on something like a robot is really cool. Also, I heard about this program when I was in elementary school, and since then I couldn’t wait to become an AdamBot.
What is your favorite memory from robotics?
My favorite memory from robotics is when we went to Worlds last year. It was amazing to see FIRST on such a large scale. Also, talking with the sponsors like the people who worked for NASA was pretty cool.
What have you learned from being on the team?
The big thing I learned from being on the team was responsibility, because it forces you to balance your time so you can work on the robot as much as you can, but also have enough to do your homework.
What are you excited about for FIRST?
FIRST is special because it presents an opportunity like no other, it allows kids who want to be engineers a chance to be one. It also provides a really good way to be involved with your school. Additionally, it’s nto just about robots, it’s about the community, and teams do some cool things for their communities, allowing FIRST to reach a broader population other than just the “future engineers”.
