I joined the Van Hoosen Middle School team for its rookie year, we were invited to tag along to one of the Adambots’ OCCRA Competitions, I loved to see the teams and their robots in action.

What is your favorite memory from robotics?

During the World Championships in St. Louis, when we first walking into the stadium and saw the playing fields and all the international teams in one place. My favorite moment on the team is realizing that we are impacting the world in a positive way.

What have you learned from being on the team?

I have learned about programming in java and how to use some new tools. I also learned that team work is important to achieve goals. I have also learned that it is important to have good team spirit, which makes it a lot of fun for everyone.

What is special about FIRST?

One can learn a lot just by walking into the build room. Without FIRST, Robotics wouldn’t have existed. FIRST allows people from around the world to communicate by competing with robots!
