Dallas Arboretum

The Dallas Arboretum is a 66-acre botanical garden located at 8617 Garland Road in east Dallas. The Arboretum is a group of gardens and fountains with a view of White Rock Lake and the Dallas skyline. At night visitors can view the reflection of the city lights off the lake. The majority of the grounds were given to the Dallas Arboretum by geophysicist Everett Lee DeGolyer and his wife Nell. Mrs. DeGolyer who had extensive flower gardens on the land. The adjoining Camp estate was later added to increase the size of the grounds to 66 acres.

Dallas Arboretum

The Dallas Arboretum is unique because the Dallas climate allows visitors to find flowers in bloom year round. It also has a famous collection of azaleas that includes 2,400 varieties. In the spring the Arboretum has its "Dallas Blooms" festival featuring more than 400,000 spring-blooming bulbs, over 3,000 azaleas and thousands of other annuals and perennials spread throughout the 66-acre gardens. The "Dallas Blooms" festival is the largest outdoor floral festival in the Southwest.
