Fair Park

Dallas's Fair Park is a 277 acre recreational area and National Historic Landmark. Fair Park has nine museums, six sports facilities, and a lagoon. It's also home the Texas Star, North Americas largest Ferris Wheel. The park is famous for it's many art deco buildings that were constructed in 1936 for the Texas Centennial Exposition. In this group of buildings is the famous Cotton Bowl were the NCAA Cotton Bowl Classic is held each year. The parks signature event is the State Fair of Texas, the largest state fair in the United States. It has hosted the event since1886. The State Fair of Texas starts on the last Friday in September and goes until the third Sunday in October.
